NTL Mentoring
Whereas NTL Coaching supports the client in uncovering what she or he already knows, NTL Mentoring involves a developmental relationship between a more experienced, higher level person inside an organization - a Mentor - and a less experienced partner, sometimes referred to as a "protégé" or a "Mentee." The job of the NTL Mentor is to guide, teach, develop and protect the person being mentored. The Mentor facilitates the development of another by sharing known resources, expertise, values, skills, perspectives, attitudes, knowledge and proficiencies. In short, the Mentor is often senior to the person being mentored and is responsible for helping the Mentee navigate the waters of the new field or environment. The Mentor does this by sharing all she or he knows about what it will take to be successful.
There are several NTL Programs which provide Mentors to program participants. Mentors are assigned to participants in NTL's Diversity Leadership Certificate Program (DLCP) and its Organization Development (OD) Program. Coaches are available to post-lab participants of NTL's Core Lab Programs, specifically, the Human Interaction and the ISLS Labs, and on a "per request" basis.
