Appreciative Inquiry

Focusing on the Positive
Often times, we focus more on fixing what's wrong rather than on building organizations around what works well.  Appreciative Inquiry (AI) is a philosophy, a world view, a process for aligning organizational goals with the assets and values of the people within the system.

AI can be a powerful perspective and process that fosters enthusiasm for and high commitment to effective change.  It can be a perspective on any process - coaching leaders, creating and strengthening teams, resolving differences, valuing diversity and inclusion, redesigning organizations, strategic planning - as well as a process for creating community and addressing social issues.

During NTL's AI programs, participants learn to increase their personal and group effectiveness in a diverse environment; generate the capacity to give and receive feedback in a supportive and generative way; improve one's ability to understand one's own strengths and that of others; and open new channels of communication and personal insight.
