Certificate Programs

  • Now accepting enrollments for our 2009-2010 Ottawa OD Certificate Program!

NTL Certificate Programs provide a consistent, common level of knowledge, and comprehensive and measurable methodology for individuals and organizations seeking to support the organizational strategy and the work of their employees and clients.

Each certificate track consists of required and/or elective courses that follow a suggested sequence.  Throughout the certificate track, each participant is matched with an NTL member who serves as a learning mentor, guide, and counselor to ensure maximum exploration for the selected area of concentration.  NTL Institute's Human Interaction Laboratory is the basic requirement for the Appreciative Inquiry and Organization Development tracks.

Each NTL Certificate Program is facilitated by distinguished NTL member faculty who ensure that participants are both challenged and supported.

NTL offers the following certificate programs:

  • Diversity Leadership Certificate Program
    Designed and sequenced in 7 cohort sessions over an 18 month period to address the breadth of issues facing the diversity leader.  Each session advances the learning of the previous sessions. 
  • Organization Development Certificate Program
    Explores organization development theory, methodologies, and technologies and integrates a sequence of course and experiential work based on learning the Action Research Model, applying the basics of this model, and then branching into specialized organization development areas.  Consists of required and elective courses offered in a suggested sequence, but allowing participants flexibility in selecting individual offerings to meet specific learning goals. 
  • Appreciative Inquiry Certificate Program
    Presented in collaboration with Case Western Reserve University, this program immerses organization leaders and consultants in the theory and practice of Appreciative Inquiry, a solution-focused approach to organizational transformation.  Consists of required and elective courses offered in a suggested sequence, but allowing participants flexibility in selecting individual offerings to meet specific learning goals. 
  • Ottawa Organization Development Certificate Program
    Presented in partnership with Tefler School of Management and ODNOO, this program is a carefully integrated sequence of programs and experiential work designed to provide a thorough knowledge of the underlying principles and theories of Organization Development and to build capability across a full range of OD competencies.  Consists of required and elective courses offered in a suggested sequence, but allowing participants flexibility

NTL Certificate Programs also can be adapted to fit specific organizational needs or totally customized when desired.  The programs can be provided on-site, creating a high and consistent level of knowledge and skills in multiple areas of the organization.
