| Welcome to NTL Institute NTL Institute's presence in Bethel, Maine, spans almost sixty years to NTL's founding in 1947. Nestled in the foothills of the White Mountains in western Maine, Bethel is a charming, hamlet-like enclave of about 2,500 inhabitants - a village of only a few streets in each direction.
The pastoral campus is home to NTL's Founders House which consists of a conference center and NTL's bookstore. NTL programs are also conducted at the nearby Bethel Inn and Conference Center and on the campus of Gould Academy.
GETTING TO NTL'S SUMMER PROGRAMS
Three airports are accessible to Bethel - Portland, Maine; Manchester, New Hampshire; and Boston, Massachusetts.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS
From Portland, Maine (about a 2 hour drive): take 95 North, continue straight on the Maine Turnpike to Exit 63 (formerly Exit 11) in Gray, take Route 26 North for approximately 50 miles into Bethel.
From Boston, Massachusetts (about a 3 1/2 hour drive): take 95 North to Maine Turnpike; follow directions from Portland.
From Concord, New Hampshire (about a 2 hour drive): take 93 North to Franconia, Route 3 North to Twin Mountain, Route 115 North to Jefferson, and Route 2 East to Bethel.
From Manchester, New Hampshire (about a 3 1/2 hour drive): take 93 North to exit 35, Route 3 North to Twin Mountain, Route 115 North to Jefferson to Route 2 East to Bethel.
From White River Junction, Vermont (about a 2 hour drive): take 91 North to Wells River, Route 302 East to Littleton, New Hampshire, Route 116 North to Jefferson, Route 2 East to Bethel -or- 91 North to St. Johnsbury, Vermont, then East on Route 2 to Bethel.
From Montreal, Canada (about a 5 hour drive): take Route 10 to Route 141. Follow Route 141 to Route 3 South to Colebrook, New Hampshire. Follow Route 26 East (also Route 2) to Bethel.

The "Downeastener" is Amtrak's fully accessible passenger rail service connecting Boston, Massachuetts to Portland, Maine. There are four trains each way per day.
